The Sacred Heart feast celebrated

The Sacred Heart feast celebrated

Today (23-6-2006) the feast of the Sacred Heart was celebrated in a very worthy manner in our community here in Eluru. The celebrations were begun already on 22nd evening. In the evening we had our solemn evening prayer. And from 9 in the evening we had Vigil of Adoration. From 9 to 10 it was common Holy Adoration and then brothers and fathers were taking rotation. One hour each. And it was a very special spiritual preparation for the celebration of the feast. And in the morning we had our morning prayer and later the Benediction. And since it was not a holiday in the college we had to attend the classes in the college. And in the evening at 6 PM we our Holy Eucharist presided over by Fr. Beppe and concelebrated by Fr. Kus and Fr. Rathna Raj (The parish priest of the Cathedral). We had also some of our good friends to celebrate the feast with us. It was a solemn Eucharist. And then we had a grate dinner with all our guests and all the community members and it was a good celebration indeed. We will be having an area meeting celebration in the coming Sunday in Namburu – in our Novitiate. So we all thank the Lord for the Heart of His Son Jesus opened for all of us. And we thank the Lord that He has called all of us to share His Heart of Love with all others. May this celebration help us to understand His Heart more closely.

Inauguration of the New Academic year

Today the inauguration of the New Academic year began. The celebrations were begun with Holy Eucharist. And it was presided over by the Bishop of Kadappa Bp. Preksam and the Bishop of Eluru diocese also was present. And his message in homily was clear that each one must be emptied so that we would be able to be filled with the knowledge of Christ. And after the Eucharist we had short refreshment. And after a short time we gathered in the auditorium for the inauguration functions. And Fr. Provincial of St. Joseph province declared the opening of the new academic year. And both bishops also gave their imputes about the new school year and their expectations from the students. And both faculties –both philosophy and Theology department deans just gave a short report of the challenges of the new school year. And the programs were concluded with thanksgiving and hymn to Our Lady.

community meeting

Today morning we had our first community meeting. And it was a new experience for many of our new comers. Some of them were so happy to be present in a big community with open heart and mind and with big smiles in their lips.
Fr. Kus opened the community meeting with a prayer. And then short information about some of the duties and some pastoral ministry and so on. And the new premus inter paras was chosen by the community by casting their votes. And it is none other than Bor. Sunil Roman. And the community duties were divided for the first semester of the academic year 2006-2007. And then some of the pastoral ministries too were made clear. And Bro.Roy concluded meeting with a short prayer.

Happy Birthday

Today Fra. Michael Augustine SCJ Celebrates his 24th Birthday. We the community of Priests of the Sacred Heart would be happy to Introduce him to you all.

Michael was born in the state of Tamil Nadu. And after his initial studies in his village school and he joined with the scjs. In the first yeat he was in the minor seminary in Earnakulam and later he did his Philosophy and then was promotted to Novitiate. After his Novitiate he was sent to do regency in gorandala- in the Minor seminary of ours. He was also vocation Promotor there. And this year he begins his Theology studies by staying in SCJEluru community.

So we would be happy to say shortly so much about his. And we also pray for him and for his family members. May the Good Lord bless you all.

Hello From Eluru

Hello Dear one and all, It is a long time since we have done anything in our blog. We are also aware that we could not sent to you our Lenten thoughts till the end of the season. So by Keeping all thses in our mind we are here to begin our New School year. We would like to infor you all that our college would be opening on 16th of June 2006. So please keep us in your prayers. And hope that you would be supporting and follwoing us in this school year more closly.
